Do not use the same adhesive to connect the elements of PVC and CPVC.
To connect pipe CPVC FIP company has developed special adhesives and TemperGLUE TemperGLUE 724. Adhesives are manufactured using compound CPVC brands CORZAN, which is used in the manufacture of pipes, fittings and fixtures. Application for installation of CPVC piping and TemperGLUE TemperGLUE 724 ensures stable and reliable connection.
To connect the PVC pipes used glue Tanguy production company Henkel.
Instructions on the adhesive joint pipe
Before you begin, make sure the adhesive bond in fitness and good condition used devices and the attachment. Check the uniformity, fluidity and shelf life of adhesive.
1. Cut the tube perpendicularly to the axis. To obtain a qualitative section, it is recommended to use special Cutters with rollers, intended for cutting pipes of thermoplastics.
2. Remove the bevel angle of 15 °. This operation must be performed on a mandatory basis, as a result of improper processing ends can occur scraping glue from the surface of the fitting, as well as violation of the connection. In implementing this operation should use the appropriate fasochnye incisors.
3. Measure the depth of the fitting and apply on the edge of the pipe corresponding mark.
4. Using a clean paper towel or a cloth soaked in detergent sredstvomPrimer not remove the dirt and / or grease from the outer surface of the pipe along the length of the adhesive joint, as well as the inner surface of the fitting.
Dry the surface for several minutes, then apply glue. It should be remembered that the cleaners, except washing and cleaning, also soften and prepare the surface connected by a spray adhesive that allows you to get the optimal connection.
5. Apply adhesive uniformly applied to both the longitudinal surface of connected components (the outer surface of the pipe and the inner surface of the fitting) using the applicator brush or rough respective sizes
It is recommended to use the applicator / brush, the size of which / that account for at least half the diameter of the pipe.
Glue should be applied to the entire length of the bonded surfaces of pipes and fittings:
- The entire depth of the fitting;
- The entire length of pipe sticking, pre-marked on the outer surface.
6. Quickly insert the tube into the fitting on the depth of the connection, not turning it. Only then can turn it to the two edges (no more than ¼ turn pipes and fittings). Turning the components caused the glue is distributed more evenly.
7. Insert pipe into fitting must be carried out quickly (it is recommended to perform all necessary actions for 20-25 seconds).
In view of the outside diameter of pipes and various production constraints, insert pipe into fitting should be performed:
- Manually by one person, if the outer diameter of not more than 90 mm;
- Manually by two people, if the outer diameter is from 90 to 160 mm;
- With the appropriate connector for pipes, if the outer diameter of more than 160 mm.
8. Immediately after inserting the pipe into the fitting (to the end), push the two components for a few seconds, then immediately remove any excess adhesive from the outer surface using a piece of crepe paper or a clean cloth, as well as inner surfaces, if possible.
9. Drying glue
Keep connected components for some time that the glue had dried naturally, while provide the absence of too much exposure to these elements. Drying time depends on the pressure, which affects the connection. In particular, depending on ambient temperature, the minimum values of time are:
* Before the impact on the connection:
- 5 to 10 minutes at an ambient temperature of 10 ° C and above
- From 15 to 20 minutes at ambient temperatures below 10 ° C
* To repair connections that are not tested hydraulically in respect of all sizes and pressures:
- 1 hour at any pressure
* With respect to compounds that are tested hydraulically for pipes and fittings of any diameter up to PN 16:
- Not less than 24 hours.
Indicated time is required for the proper glue, designed for ambient temperature is around 25 ° C, and certain climatic conditions (humidity, temperature, etc.).
For more information, we recommend to contact our Service Department and / or manufacturing companies of the adhesive.
Remarks, recommendations and general precautions for gluing pipes
* In the event that the internal diameter of the pipe and the outer diameter of the fitting are marginal, dry tube can be inserted into the fitting.
Performing this operation is possible only after the simultaneous treatment of surfaces of connected components of the detergent and applying them glue.
* Unless otherwise indicated, the values of tolerance should be as follows:
- Preload – not more than 0,2 mm
- Admission to the gap – less than 0,3 mm.
* It is recommended to observe the following precautions:
- Use gloves and safety goggles to protect hands and eyes.
- When using the adhesive and surface treatment cleaners provide adequate ventilation of working area to avoid saturation of air evaporation of the solvent that can cause irritation of the respiratory tract and eyes.
* Given the volatility of solvents present in the adhesives and cleaners, should be closed tanks with these substances immediately after use.
* Solvents are in a gaseous state, form a flammable mixture. In this regard, it is recommended to exclude the presence in the place of performance of sources that can cause inflammation, including: welding, accumulation of electrostatic charges, as well as smoking. There should be mandatory execution precautions listed on the packaging and prescribed by the manufacturers of adhesives.
* Adhesive joint should be performed at an ambient temperature of 5 to 40 ° C to ensure adequate performance adhesives and detergent.
* The number of glue necessary to accomplish the connection depends on several factors (external environment, the size of pipes, the viscosity of the adhesive, the experience of staff, etc.). Table 3 shows the approximate amount of adhesive, which is usually required for the connection of pipes and fittings of various diameters.
